New Port Richey- Florida (October 12, 2009) – The ‘Pop Art Diva,’ Jules Burt, will present a special piece of artwork to the Breast Care Center at the Pink Ladies Luncheon on Wednesday, October 21 from 11:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. at Community Hospital, the future Medical Center of Trinity.

The Pink Ladies Luncheon will feature keynote speaker, Kim Berfield the Deputy Secretary of the Florida Department of Health who will discuss women’s health initiatives as well as an inspirational speech from three-time breast cancer survivor, Sharon Walker-Whitehead, Director of the American Cancer Society, Tampa Hope Lodge—providing cancer patients and their families a free, temporary place to stay in a nurturing, home-like environment while seeking effective treatment away from home.

Admission to the luncheon is FREE and includes a plated entrée as well as giveaways. Seating is limited and reservations are required. For more information and for reservations, call 1-877-4-HCA-DOCS (1-877-442-2362).

Plant City artist Jules Burt has been keeping the world in full color for over a decade.  Dubbed the ‘Pop Art Diva,’ much of her inspiration comes from her love of glamour and color. “Fun Flower” paintings, “Glamour Queen” paintings, and the popular “Eight Cups of Coffee” painting along with other Jules originals adorned the set design of Americas favorite coffee house, the “Central Perk” seen on the hit NBC series “Friends.” Jules Burt will unveil a special piece of artwork in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month to be displayed in the Breast Care Center.

Community Hospital’s Breast Care Center offers the following types of breast imaging:

  • Digital mammography – screening or diagnostic technology providing for a clearer picture and better comfort
  • Breast ultrasound – recommended for women under 40 who have begun mammography screenings due to a family history or for advanced diagnostics
  • Breast MRI – an excellent diagnostic tool for women needing additional diagnostics
  • Stereotactic Suite for breast biopsy procedures

Community Hospital’s Breast Care Center was designed with women in mind. There are private dressing rooms and a warm décor that makes for a relaxing environment. Even hot tea is served. The primary goal of the Breast Care Center is to relieve stress for patients and to dedicate an area that is truly unique. The Breast Care Center also offers the services of a Breast Care Coordinator who assists the patient through the entire process.

To encourage the all-important yearly mammography screening, the Breast Care Center offers a digital mammography screening for the nominal fee of only $60. The fee includes both the screening and the radiologist reading.
